What happened the first time you were left home alone as a child?

My brothers and I were left home without parents quite often because both worked, so I don't know when the first time was but I do have some memories of those days.
One time my brothers (Sean and Cory) and I were home alone after school. I think I was in fifth grade which would mean we were a sixth, fifth and third grader. So we hear a knock on the door and my brother looks out the window to see who it is, we didn't recognize the man so we all got scared. My older brother crawled to the front door and laid his whole body against it so the man wouldn't be able to open it. (yeah like an 11 year old can stop a grown man) My younger brother went to find a bat and I called Mom at work. So this man is standing at our front door and he just keeps knocking and yelling "Hello, Hello" and he is like trying to look through the front windows so we are all freaking out. So finally by the time we got through to Mom at work the man was gone so we told her what happened and she talked to all three of us and told us we would be okay and we did the right thing by not answering the door. As it turned out, the man was our next door neighbor's friend who was coming over to check on us at the request of the neighbor. When my Mom got home and figured that out she kinda chuckled and the man came over and we met him and everything was okay :) Kids can be silly sometimes, but I do think we were smart for not answering a stranger. Mama raised us right!!
That was a longer story than I meant it to be...
Another time when Sean was in Jr. High, I was in sixth and Cory was in fourth, Sean got really mad at Cory for something and so instead of hitting Cory, Sean kicked the wall and made a big hole in it! Sean (being the goody two-shoes he is) called Mom right away and told her he made a hole in the wall. Cory and I were trying to figure out how to fix it before she got home, but Sean told on himself anyway.
Those are my two memories for this post, I'll post more if I think of something particularly amusing.
